Are you afraid of death?
Or are you not arsed?

Re: Are you afraid of death?
Yes, instinctively. More of the means of it and possible pain than of any afterlife stuff.

Re: Are you afraid of death?
Not really bothered, although it’d be a shame to be parted from family and miss out on opportunities to do enjoyable things.

The only time I genuinely thought I might die and genuinely saw my life flashing in front of my eyes, I thought ‘Oh well. This is it then.’

If I knew I was going to die, my biggest regret would be missing out on all the scientific discoveries and missions to Mars etc.

Re: Are you afraid of death?
The closest I've come was about 30 seconds away when getting in my car parked on a busy road one evening around chucking out time, this was when single yellow lines, a speeding van swerved towards me I opened the door, which was unlocked otherwise I wouldn't be telling this tale, then jumped in the drivers seat grabbed the door to close it when it disappeared up the road. So at the time I would have to say yes as my arsehole was going 19 to the dozen if that's what you mean.

Police turned up 20 minutes later saying they caught him after he had smashed up another 5 cars, couldn't stand up when he got out the car and no insurance.

Imagine all those poor sods who are kicking it without getting to see the end of Game of Thrones! Gutted or what!

Not much point in worrying about things that you have no control over.

Re: Are you afraid of death?
Not bothered about not existing anymore, how would I know? The lead up to that state whilst I'm still alive might get nasty, but as someone pointed out there's no point in wasting time worrying about it.

Dunno. Ask me again when it's imminent.

Re: Are you afraid of death?
Been looking forward to it for years.

We've all got to die and I'm not one of those people who feel the need to reach old age, as I have no kids and the way this world and country are going, bring it on.

How would being afraid of death feel? How are you meant to act? What can you do about it anyway?

A stupid question that makes no sense. Stick to your Wetherspoon and truck driving threads mate.

Re: Are you afraid of death?
Not sure, but I have to say I'm quite enjoying my 50s as I have given up any residual pretence of being sociable. I do or don't do exactly what I want and feel no need whatsoever to be 'cool', fashionable, 'with it' or indeed anything other than a fairly grumpy middle aged man.

Body crumble has started, but not TOO significant so far.

Re: Are you afraid of death?
When I'm lying in my bed I think about life and I think about death and neither one particularly appeals to me. Morrissey.

Re: Are you afraid of death?
Personally I cannot wait for the day it happens.
I'm reaching a point where I think what's the point in anything anymore. Sad and lonely existence I know and a selfish way of looking at it all but really what is the point.
